Philip is the Managing Director of Possum, whose mission is to harness modern technology to empower people with disabilities and increase their independence. This vision is achieved by two means: through a business, Possum Limited, and a charity, the Possum Trust.
He joined Possum as MD in 1994 and whilst retaining a clear focus on the National Health Service has led the diversification of the company into Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Telecare and exports markets.Prior to joining Possum Philip had a successful career in financial management and business development in a diverse range of industries including prosthetic limbs, biotechnology and computer software. Philip holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Warwick Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Philip lists his interests as family life, boating and keeping fit. In 2008 he completed a sponsored bicycle ride from London to Paris with a team from Possum which raised £50,000 for charity.
In his ‘spare’ time he is Chair of Governors at his local secondary school.
